Overview
I led the UX for porting Star Wars Outlaws to the Nintendo Switch 2. Some of my responsibilities were benchmarking, user research, UI adaptation, accessibility, MVP/feature prioritization and implementation support.

Brief project summary
This project is under a Non Disclosure Agreement, that limits how much I can share.
I had the pleasure of leading UX for this port project, in close colaboration with Game Design and programmers. Most of my efforts were in understanding the new target audience and their specific needs in this new platform, the Nintendo Switch 2.
Besides other tasks, I mostly worked on adding new platform specific features, previously mapped as relevant to the new audience we wanted to reach, as touch-screen and gyroscope support.
On top of that, my biggest contribution was the design of an innovative system that automatically adapts the entire game UI to the player gaming mode, docked or handheld, improving accessibility, readability and the overall gameplay experience, especially during handheld.
Switch 2 unique Handheld mode
My biggest contribution and preferred addition was the design of an innovative system that automatically adapts the entire game UI to the player gaming mode, docked or handheld, improving accessibility, readability and the overall gameplay experience, especially during handheld.

The standard settings would allow players to reduce a lot of the screen real state, making most of HUD and gameplay elements extremely hard to see and read.

The new accessibility setting, Handheld mode, ensured players would be taking the best out of the smaller screen without ever having to push any buttons. All core gameplay elements and text are automatically enlarged and best adjusted to fit the screen as soon the player removes the console from the docking station.

The main Accessibility Presets screen where players can browse around all the options and turn those on and off.
